Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Officer / Receptionist in the Endoscopy Department in support of the endoscopy services provided on both Freeman and Royal Victoria Infirmary sites. The role will be predominantly based at the Freeman but will also be expected to support the RVI Endoscopy Department as required.

An ability to work within a team is essential as you will be working closely with patients, clinical and non-clinical colleagues, providing a comprehensive reception service for the Endoscopy Department.

Main duties of the job

Working in a busy department, applicants should have experience of NHS computer systems; good organisational skills; good communication and interpersonal skills to provide support to patients, medical and nursing teams within the department and to liaise with departments across the organisation. The ability to communicate with patients in a professional, sensitive and empathetic manner is essential.

  • Literacy and numeracy skills to NVQ Level 2 (Qualification and Credit Framework level 1) or equivalent
  • General Clerical Computer experience – word processing, basic office skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or working towards
