An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and progressive thinking individual to join the Sterile Services Team within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Department employs over 110 staff working across the Freeman Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary and Dental Hospital and provides a comprehensive service to 54 Operating Theatres, Wards / Departments and the local community.

The Department offers services to multiple specialities which include: Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Orthopaedic Surgery, General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Maxillofacial, Ophthalmology, Urology and Renal and Endoscopy decontamination.

Working alongside one other Deputy Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Operational Manager with the day to day management, efficiency and leadership of the department. The Deputy Manager will also support in the maintenance of the quality management system and processes in the departments.

Duties include co-ordinating activities and resources to meet the production requirements for the processing of medical and surgical equipment. You will ensure that stringent quality standards are maintained through compliance with procedures, protocols and processes.

You will hold Diploma in management or equivalent experience. Previous significant experience in Sterile Services and Endoscopy alongside a sound knowledge of Sterile services equipment and maintenance programmes is desirable, HTM01-01, HTM01-06

Knowledge of the quality management system ISO13485-2016.
