Job overview
To provide administration to the paediatric speech & language therapy service.
The role is Full time based at Regent Point in Gosforth.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have previous NHS administration experience who are familiar with System One.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To work as part of the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) department administrative team, including word processing, updating System One, distribution and filing of documents, answering telephone queries and arranging appointments.
- To liaise with other professional organisations to ensure effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
- To be the first contact in dealing with complaints or queries.
- To support the Team Administrator in the development of new methods of working.
- To ensure the continued running of the office in the absence of the Team Administrator.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RSA 2 or equivalent qualification / experience
- European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- RSA 3 or equivalent qualification / experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Significant office experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of a range of office practices and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Telephone contact in professional/confidential environment
- Experience of working without direct supervision
- Experience of working in an environment where interruptions are frequent
- Good standard of general education
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of medical terminology
