Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Clerical Officer/Receptionist based on one of the Receptions within Physiotherapy. This post will work between the Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Freeman Hospital. This post will work 4 days a week. 

The successful candidate will ideally have experience if working in a busy admin environment and will have a flexible approach to work.

Main duties of the job

The post holders duties will include:

  • Dealing with telephone enquires promptly.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments.

You will be working within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient administrative support service to the wider Physiotherapy team. You will have face to face contact with patients, telephone calls,  uploading into Patient Record system – E-record , Archiving.

  • To undertake a range of duties at the Therapy Services reception desk to ensure an efficient and effective administration service to patients and staff of the department.

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • highly developed keyboard skills to RSA level II or equivalent work experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Have knowledge of other Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Have reception experience preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Previous office experience
  • Have knowledge of eRecord and SystmOne
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience in a rehabilitation setting
  • Previous experience in a health care environment.

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an approachable and diplomatic manner
  • Have good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks in a busy and demanding reception area
