Do you thrive in a fast-paced high patient turnover area? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our Same Day Emergency Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. We are looking for a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the team. The Same Day Emergency Care Unit has dramatically changed over the last 5 years building relations with our Emergency Department colleagues and General Practitioners, generating increased attendances. We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic leader who can continue to develop and strengthen the unit’s reputation.

Our Same Day Emergency Care Unit offers a 7-day service operating between the hours of 8am -10pm weekdays and 8am - 8pm weekends. The unit accepts both medical and surgical patients directly from their GP and the Emergency Department who feel they do not require overnight admission. Our diverse workforce includes medical, nursing, allied health professionals, nurse practitioners, admin support and domestic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensure the unit delivers the high quality care that The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals has an excellent reputation for.
